What is the European Commission doing to improve adult learning?

Tuesday 19 September 2017 at Arts56 - Avenue des Arts 56 - 1000 Brussels

More adult learning can help Europe overcome the economic crisis, meet the need for new skills, and keep its ageing workforce productive. Learning is also essential for social inclusion and active citizenship. These days, people cannot just rely on the skills they acquired at school to last them till the end of their working life. That’s why adult learning is a vital component of the European Commission's lifelong learning policy. The Commission is committed to helping all EU countries create adult learning systems that are flexible, of high quality, with excellent teaching and with the full involvement of (formal and non-formal) adult learning providers, local authorities, employers, social partners, civil society, and cultural organizations.
