Summary of the regional meeting in Fier

Presentation of the Electronic Platform for Adult Learning in Europe (EPALE) and training of multipliers on how to use this platform

In the framework of the activities under the project EPALE NSS ALBANIA 2017-2018, on 12 October 2018 a regional meeting was held at the premises of the vocational high school "Petro Sota" in Fier with adult learning providers and specialists. The meeting aimed at presenting the EPALE platform to them, demonstrating how each platform participant can be involved to ensure their own professional development.  Also, this meeting aimed at setting up a group of multipliers, who will contribute to expanding the network of professionals in EPALE. This one-day meeting was attended by managers, teachers, trainers, experts and specialists from institutions and organizations in the region of Fier.

The meeting was attended by different stakeholders from the Berat region, who, in one way or another, are involved in adult learning.

The stakeholders participating in the meeting were representatives of the following institutions:

  1. The municipality of Fier
  2. The vocational high school ‘Petro Sota”, Fier
  3. The vocational high school ‘Rakip Kryeziu”, Çlirim Fier
  4. The Public Regional Directorate of Vocational Training,  Fier
  5. The Private Vocational Training Center “Agroni",  Fier
  6. The vocational high school, Lushnjë.

Two were the activities delivered during the meeting:

1.  Presentation and promotion of EPALE: During Session I, the director of EPALE NSS Albania as well as representatives of adult learning providers in the region of Fier made their opening remarks. EPALE was presented and promoted during sessions II and III.  During these two sessions  participants worked in groups to solve a crossword puzzle which contained all the EPALE features. The winning group received a tea mug with the EPALE logo (see the attached agenda). The steps on how to use the EPALE platform were presented during session III and participants were assisted while being registered as members of the platform. These sessions were attended by 31 people, who showed their interest in the platform and participated in discussions related to it.

2. Training of multipliers on the use of EPALE: During sessions IV, V, VI participants received information on multiplication and multipliers and were trained on how to search and start a blog in EPALE. Participants worked in groups to apply various search methods using the given key words and to build a blog. EPALE promotional materials such as leaflets, brochures, badges, pens, bracelets, folders with the EPALE logo were also distributed to participants.

The EPALE 2018 thematics and the online discussion plan announced by EPALE CSS were presented during the last session. This was also used as a brainstorming session on how to cooperate in this context. These sessions were attended by 30 people (see attached agenda).

Questions and discussions were an integral part of the meeting.

Participants were invited to join EPALE and, afterwards, exchange positive experiences, news, views, ideas and resources with other national and European members.
