“Special needs” and “Autism”: two important topics in nowadays schools. Italy and its inclusive schools system is a very innovative way of working in the educational system. This intensive course gives to educational figures the possibility to learn methodologies and tools to understand the way of working with students with these kind of difficulties, in a formal and informal way, having some practical experiences together with the theoretical part. The course is based on the outputs of an Erasmus Plus KA2 Strategic Partnership for vocational education and training "EFFECTIVE METHODOLOGY OF TEACHING FOR CHILDREN WITH ASD FROM MAINSTREAM SCHOOLS" 2019-1-RO01-KA202-063957. The project implemented a Pilot course for teachers working with ASD children in mainstream schools and developed a teacher guide which will be used as educational support of the present course.
1° DAY (Monday) Registration of participants o Course "Special Needs and Autism: how to deal with them? Theoretical and Practical experiences." o Participants presentation o Personal and professional expectation o Progetto Crescere Presentation: a Social Cooperative and a model for inclusion o Introduction about Italian Education Inclusion System: comparison between countries.
DAY 2 and DAY 3 Contents of the Days THEORETICAL PART o Cultural framework and capability approach o Disabilities in school: inclusion steps for students with special needs. How a teacher/educator/psychologist or educational figure in general might work with special needs o How to adapt the didactic and to sensitize about ASD: practical tools PRACTICAL EXPERIENCES o Autism, Practical Experiences between diagnosis and rehabilitation: precocious interventions, educational paths
DAY 4 Educational visit to Reggio Chidren Loris Malaguzzi International Center
DAY 5 o General reflections: opportunity to exchange experiences. o Final evaluation of the course and dissemination plan
Objectives This course gives useful instruments to everyone involved in adults training and educational staff: lecturers, teachers, trainers, Education staff and Youth workers. The well balanced programme between theoretical parts and practical experiences permits participants to be well prepared and informed about methods, techniques and instrument useful with people with Special Needs and Autism. The course wants, in particular, to reach some goals: - to provide knowledge about the inclusion of children/students with special needs and to promote methods in inclusive education - to observe clinical and educational experience to learn new method and instruments - to create an occasion to exchange experiences and ideas about European situation of inclusive education - to develop links with teachers, educators and social workers from different European countries - to develop professional competences and skills
