Seniors' Week is a good opportunity for inter-generational relationships

Language: EN

Seniors’ Week is an opportunity for Antalya Olgunlasma Institute to join together and celebrate the valuable contributions of older people. This year we celebrated Seniors Week  from 19–23 March.

In order to enhance community connections and inter-generational relationships many events are planned by our school during the week.

A fashion and dance show is prepared by elders and they are presented to the community in Antalya.

A patchwork workshop is arranged for the elder students of our school where elders spent time together making blankets, cushions and bags.

Secondary school students and nursing home residents were our visitors for this special event and they  spent their time together, sharing stories, listening to saxophone and ney and tasting traditional Turkish food. They also made different cultural items and attended workshops such as glass making, ebru, flower making.
