RL:EU Conference: Digital Upskilling for Libraries in Europe (Hybrid)
On April 10, 2024, the RL:EU Conference: Digital Upskilling for Libraries in Europe will be taking place in Lisbon, Portugal. The conference will be in a hybrid format, and will present resources, frameworks, and projects on digital up-skilling for libraries in Europe.
Gathering library professionals from across Europe, the conference will be an opportunity to learn more about the RL:EU project, network with practitioners, explore opportunities with EU funding programmes, and discover various EU projects on digital literacies which have taken place in libraries.
About RL:EU
“Resourcing Libraries: connecting libraries to EU resources” (RL:EU) is an Erasmus+ funded project which aims to help Europe’s public libraries unlock EU resources to support their adult education programmes and strategies. This project brings together Public Libraries 2030, EBLIDA, and PiNA to develop an approach that helps public libraries and librarians learn about EU initiatives and programmes and access EU funding.
As public libraries are the first port of call for many adult learners, this project aims to help develop libraries’ capacities to be forward-looking adult education learning centres. The project partners support public libraries by organising webinar series, mentoring and group coaching, as well as through the development of a training methodology, a workbook, a collection of good practices, and policy recommendations for EU funding of public libraries.
Programme overview
During the conference, the partners will provide a short introduction of the RL:EU project and explore the EU frameworks and programmes on digital literacies and competences. This will be followed by a ‘Living Library’ session, where participants will discover various EU projects on digital literacies in libraries.
- 11:00 - 11:30: Arrival
- 11:30 - 11:45: Introduction of the RL:EU project (in person and live-streamed)
- 11:45 – 12:30: EU frameworks and programmes on digital literacies and Table discussions (in person and live-streamed)
- Part 1: EU frameworks and tools to foster and evaluate digital competences followed by a table discussion
- Part 2: EU programmes supporting digital upskilling: CERV and Erasmus+ followed by a table discussion
- 12:30 – 13:30: Lunch and networking
- 13:30 – 14:30: Living Library of EU projects on digital literacies in libraries (in person and online)
- 14:30 – 15:00: Wrap-up and lessons learnt (in-person and online)
