Qualification program for Adventure Tourism - Rafting Module - Sports University of Tirana
This training provides the skills and knowledge needed for safe and fun rowing and sailing during a river and canyon tour.
Successful completion of this training demonstrates competence in rafting and gives the student the right to lead groups of tourists while sailing.
A. Knowledge of the special activity / specialty Rafting
Rafting activity training program: 55 hours (theory) - 130 hours (practice)
Course content:
- Group dynamics, decision-making and risk management (10 hours)
Rafting and rescue techniques in Rafting (5 hours)
- Signaling and communication (5 hours)
- Ethics of the environment: Knowledge of the terrain, weather, dangers in the canyon
and river currents (15 hours)
- Navigation: Maps and charts, compass orientation and GPS (5 hours)
- Tour planning and logistics (4 hours)
- Food planning (3 hours)
- Equipment and their maintenance (5 hours)
- Types of rafting (3 hours)
B. Knowledge of guidance techniques
1. Knowledge and professional skills of the Tourist Guide, business skills and working conditions. 20 hours (lecture) 26 hours (self-taught)
- Tourist Geography Lecture (4 hours)
- Instructional technique Lecture (6 hours)
- The role and importance of the guide Lecture (6 hours)
- Management knowledge Lecture (4 hours)
