PYTHAGORAS INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR – DELPHI

Greece, Delphi
Friday, August 10, 2018 - 17:15 CEST to Thursday, August 16, 2018 - 10:15 CEST

PYTHAGORAS' WISDOM FOR OUR TIME AND THE FUTURE

Seminar by Daniel Levy
11-15 August 2018

European Cultural Centre of Delphi, Greece

Description

The seminar explores Pythagoras’ teachings and their applications at all levels: education, medicine, music and science. It also explores the benefits for individuals, groups, communities and organisations. The seminar will demonstrate the applications of Pythagoras’ wisdom in the contemporary world.

There are places in the world that enshrine deep meanings for our civilizations, past, present and future.

Delphi, about one hundred miles northwest of Athens, in Greece, is one of them. It is a place where Pythagoras was inspired in the 6th century BC and that can inspire all those interested in sharing knowledge and wisdom about the true nature of the human being as well as the evolution of human societies and habitats.

The Seminar will take place at the European Cultural Centre of Delphi (E.C.C.D.) that was founded in 1977 as a result of the inspiration and initiative of Konstantinos Karamanlis, with the view of setting up a European and worldwide intellectual centre in Delphi.

Immersed in a scented pine forest, overlooking the Gulf of Corinth and based on the rocks of the mountain called Parnassus, the European Cultural Centre of Delphi is minutes from the well-preserved ruins of the temple of Apollo and the Sanctuary of Athena Pronaia.

The seminar is aimed towards educators, psychologists, philosophers, therapists, musicians, artists, researchers and all those with an interest in transformative training through the seminar's core subject.

The seminar will be hosted at the European Cultural Centre of Delphi’s Dionysos Hall on the the 11th, 12th, 13th and 14th of August 2018.

On the evening of the 15th, the participants will attend the recital of the pianist Daniel Levy at the Frynihos open air theatre in the European Cultural Centre of Delphi. The concert will feature works of composers of Western music and piano improvisations inspired by Delphi. The recital forms part of the seminar training experience.

The first thirty-six participants will be accommodated in the ECCD Guesthouse, located amidst pine forested slopes near the Dionysos Hall.

Children are welcome. There will be trained carers who will entertain them at the premises of the European Cultural Centre of Delphi during seminar hours.

The seminar will include informative and inspiring speeches by Daniel Levy, participatory learning and hands-on experiences, including sound and music listening exercises. The overall method will encourage community building, harmonious relationships and self-expression among the participants.
