Members of Mensa Serbia, who are also members of Department for activities with children, participated in the project that was aimed at education on giftedness, more precisely, at the recognition of giftedness and at the education of the gifted children.
This project is in line with the general aim of Mensa Serbia to create better environment for the gifted and to spread awareness on the importance of the education of the gifted for the development of society. The project that lasted three years was conducted in Stockholm, Sweden. The visit lasted one week and it consisted of lectures and visits to schools. All the activities in Stockholm were organised by Mensa Sweden whose members are closely involved in the work of GCP (Gifted Children Programme).
The lecturers shared their experience with the gifted children and the activities covered all the aspects of the education of the gifted and included everyone from assistants and parents, special teachers, subject teachers to school principals. Lectures were online and in-person. GCP board members also conveyed their knowledge on programme management and the promotion of teacher trainings in Sweden to board members of Mensa Serbia.
After the project, redistribution of tasks was agreed upon, as well as the option of further cooperation through Erasmus+ programme. The project output includes 5 trainings in the recognition of giftedness for interested parents and experts, a promotional video, a leaflet and articles in relevant papers and magazines.
