POP-UP : sport event
What is POP UP?
Pop up is a European project that aims to develop sporting activities within training programs to promote the integration of vulnerable adults.
The overall objective of the project is to develop tools, activities, and methodologies to promote sports participation and support the acquisition of socio-professional skills through sports among vulnerable and low-skilled individuals enrolled in training or socio-professional integration programs.
Pop UP has three specific objectives :
1. To set up innovative and inclusive physical activities that are accessible to all
2. To develop innovative training activities around physical activity in a more systematic way
3. To make the acquisition and promotion of skills acquired through these activities more tangible and formal
Why organize a sport event for our members?
“I'm not really a sports fan myself... What's the point?”
The aim of this “sports” day is to:
- discover the various tools developed as part of the project
- test several physical activities that can support the development of transferable skills
- open up discussions about sports practices and their contribution to training processes.
In addition, this day is part of European Sports Week. Each of our partners will organize an event during that week. The aim of this week is to enable Europeans to discover the physical, mental, and social benefits of physical activity.µ
Program for the day
The morning will be devoted to various workshops focusing on the use of sports in training. During these workshops, participants will be given a presentation of the project, will discuss their experiences in the field, and will take part in roundtable discussions on the obstacles to practicing sports during training.
The afternoon will be devoted to testing various sports that can be adapted to adult training, such as walking football, yoga dance, kin-ball, orienteering, Froebel's tower, self-defense, and tchoukball.
This day promises to be full of insights into the barriers and benefits of sports for trainees. We will come away with lots of new ideas for the future of adult education.
