Paper Relief Course at Ağrı Public Education Center Opens a Door to Both Art and Income for Women

The paper relief course opened at Ağrı Public Education Center attracts attention with the unique works created by women's handicrafts and opens a source of income for the trainees.

The paper relief course, which was opened about a year and a half ago at Ağrı Public Education Center, offers women from Ağrı both an artistic endeavor and the opportunity to contribute to their family budgets. Paper relief art, as a craft that requires patience and care, allows women to improve their skills and creates a social platform for them to express themselves. With this art shaped by the imagination of women, uniquely beautiful paintings emerge.

Gülşen Demirpolat, who said that she both socialized and recovered her mental system after meeting the relief system, said, "I am a pilates trainer, I gave them to them after they came here. They also started coming here."

Handicrafts teacher Sibel Kılıç stated that women generally attend the courses and said, "Women both earn income and socialize here." Mrs. Kılıç stated that she was appointed as a teacher after 22 years and has been working at Ağrı Public Education Center for 2 years. Stressing that handicrafts teaching is a comprehensive field, Mrs. Kılıç said that she has been a master instructor for 10 years and has been giving relief art courses for the last 5 years.

Stating that she realized that there was no course on paper relief art as a result of the research she did when she came to Ağrı, Mrs. Kılıç said, "I opened the course to fill this gap. Our lessons continue 5 days a week, between 09:00 and 15:00. I had 22 students in my first course, and now 17 of us are actively receiving training."

Mrs. Kılıç, who explained that women initially attended the course for decorative purposes for their homes, said that over time they continued the training to socialize and spend quality time. Kılıç also stated that the trainees contributed to their family economy by receiving orders.
