2016 is the year of new discoveries for Vilnius „Židinio“ Gymnasium for Adults. The approval of Erasmus+ KA2 project of Strategic Partnerships „Pacemaking education and employment: answers to new challenges and opportunities“ involved the gymnasium to be a part of international partnership with coordinators from Croatia and partners from UK, Czech Republic, Italy and Poland.
It is common to hear the representatives of labour market saying, that educational programs do not prepare specialists for labour market, because there is some kind of miscommunication between two sides: those, who train people for work lives, and those who hire them. The Open University of Koprivnica (Croatia) offers one of possible solutions for a problem: to create educational program for the expert, who would combine two areas together: the coordinator of education and employment. Whereas the greatest difficulties in job market are faced by socially disadvantaged groups, the program will mainly be oriented towards solving the puzzle of how to evaluate and overcome the challenges those groups face.
During the period of 1,5 year, the team lead by Open University of Koprivnica will prepare the educational programme for training the competencies of the coordinator of education and employment. The primary users of the programme will be andragogues who work with disadvantaged groups. Programme consists of 4 modules: adult education, modern communication technologies, human resources and cross-cultural competencies. Every project partner will coordinate the preparation for particular module with the help of colleagues from abroad. Vilnius „Židinio“ Gymnasium for Adults is responsible for coordinating the module of modern communications technologies.
The outcomes of the project include the preparation of andragogical tool for specialty „the coordinator of education and employment“, the research based on it‘s usefulness, and presentation of it and overall results of the project to the educational communities of every country in the final dissemination event.
