News: The Digital Literacy of Women 45+ by the DREAM Project

As we continue to make progress in empowering women over 45 in Greece and Spain, we are thrilled to share the most recent developments in the Erasmus+ KA210 project, "Digital Readiness Empowering Ambitious Middle-Aged Women Entrepreneurs – DREAM" (Reference Number: 2023-2-EL01-KA210-ADU-000170360). The project is moving forward with its next phase, which focuses on the crucial task of digital upskilling for midlife women entrepreneurs. It is being coordinated by a consortium of the Federation of Mediterranean Businesswomen Associations (AFAEMME) and the Balkan Women Coalition.

After the completion of the focus groups which were conducted online, both by Balkan Women Coalition and AFAEMME, partners concentrated their findings and prepared drafting the educational materials, the Curriculum of the project. The Curriculum is comprised of 6 modules including modules with thematic areas ranging from digital marketing, social media management, electronic commerce, web development, brand identity, as well as funding opportunities for the improvement of digital skills of women over 45 years old. Moreover, the Curriculum includes 2 modules that contain best practices of women entrepreneurs who are working on the digital technologies sector and how they accomplished a successful career.

The primary goal of this activity was the creation of a curriculum that is comprehensive, inclusive and introduces women entrepreneurs or aspiring women entrepreneurs to the identification of the digital competencies that these women need in order to thrive in the digital economy and society nowadays. Additionally, the DREAM project’s website was finalized during the past months. Partners created an accessible and easy to navigate website with the goal of informing stakeholders about the project’s results, the activities of the project, the finalization of the training materials, as well as the national reports from the local focus groups which were conducted in the previous activity.

As the project proceeds, the crowdsourcing platform is expected to be finalized. This platform will include the project’s results, and the training materials in order for them to be accessible to everyone who is interested. Social workers, mentors, trainers, and facilitators who deal with women who have less opportunities are also urged to engage with the crowdsourcing platform, exchange expertise, as also learn about the actions and outcomes of the project.

The creation of the Curriculum follows the Training of Learners which will be taking place in the partners’ countries, either physically or virtually. Skilled and experienced trainers will implement the Curriculum to women entrepreneurs or aspiring entrepreneurs over 45 years old, who want to improve their career and their digital skills in subjects like Digital Marketing, E-commerce, Web Development and become aware of the funding opportunities in their countries, along with practical exercises. The participation for the Training of Learners will be accomplished through an open call selection process through the social media accounts of the DREAM project.

Follow us on social media to stay up to date on the most recent developments. We frequently post news, updates, and chances for participation in the project. By working together, we can create a vibrant community committed to promoting women's entrepreneurship and digital empowerment.
