New materials for teachers to be developed for the eduskills.plus platform

Fantastic news!
The project "Reflections - educating for critical thinking, inclusive societies, and dynamic engagement" is being extended with the support of the Erasmus+ programme, and new teaching materials are being developed together with partners from Austria, Germany, Italy, Poland, Slovakia, and Slovenia. You are welcome to have a look at the already existing materials: https://eduskills.plus/en!
About the project
While European classrooms get more and more diverse and unite students of various identities, teachers throughout Europe are not always capable of adequately implementing diversity approaches and have trouble keeping up with the variety of individual needs. The purpose of this project was to offer teachers educational strategies for cosmopolitan engagement, diversity education, philosophical inquiry as well as the practical employment of these principles in classrooms. The modules support the development and strengthening of skills, such as critical, creative, and empathetic thinking, necessary for active participation in democratic processes and living together in diversity. Topics include human rights, racism, migration, climate change, globalisation, fair trade, and consumption.
What can you find on the platform already?
In the exchange between the partner organisations' employees, learning materials and additional multimedia content were created that make use of modern didactic tools. Teachers can look forward to a wealth of materials and modules based on the findings and results of successful projects by the renowned institutions of the University of Naples, Georg Eckert Institute, Südwind Association, and the Austrian Center of Philosophy with Children and Youth, developed in close cooperation with the other partners and adapted to the European context. These include a curriculum specially developed to promote cosmopolitan commitment for philosophising with children and young people, teaching diversity sensitivity and the global approach to learning.
The platform includes three main elements:
- Ready-to-use modules for teaching on diversity and global issues and for implementing philosophical questions in class
- Multilingual media library with a collection of resources, materials and model projects from different countries
- Online tutorials for teachers on how to use and implement the materials
Additionally, the project offers online teacher training for educators in schools and institutions, providing formal and informal education for youth in order to introduce them to the underlying ideas and prepare them to most effectively implement the project materials in their classrooms. The project was realised with the financial support of the European Commission. All materials and information are available in six languages: German, English, Italian, Polish, Slovak, and Slovenian.
