Malta´s memories

I would like to thank all amazing people working for Executive Training Institute, St. Julian´s, Malta and definitely recommend such a stay to everyone. I spent great two weeks there in April. I was fully impressed by multicultural life with many young students around not just lifelong learning students like me J Not only people of St. Julian´s but of all cities, towns and villages of Maltese islands impressed me with their gorgeous knowledge of English, their hospitality, willingness to help, show, talk, explain etc.
I took two courses there. The first one was focused on language skills developing through continuous communication in English during the lessons and during the collaborative work and activities carried out. Fluency was developed through discussions of a range of topics with subsequent feedback and remedial language work. Our teacher Peter was great, always willing to give a piece of advice to us, explain words or especially idioms or collocations. He was a great actor as well J Whole our group enjoyed the lessons a lot. The second course was more about sharing ideas dealt with methods, strategies, games, songs, videos, websites used by participants experienced with work in the classroom. We were discussing also the main engine for learners – what motivates them. We tried out Cuisenaire Rods – very special colourful wooden pieces for encouraging students to speak and use imagination. I also started using an exceptional game and quiz platform called Kahoot! The course was very practical, useful and I would like to thank again our teacher Valerie and all participants, my new friends from many corners of Europe. We keep in touch via emails but soon I hope in our mutual projects through eTwinning too.
