LOST2 Final Conference (Brussels, BE - May 21st, 2025)

LOST2 (https://lost.team/) is an Erasmus+ funded project aimed to address the increasing issue of Missing People and Children across Europe through the development of a new standard professional profile (Expert in the Research for Missing People and Minors) and the implementation of a high-level training programme that is expected to be formally recognised across Europe, and which contents will contribute for the up- and reskilling of professionals working in search and rescue.

Thus, LOST2 partnership includes organisations experienced in this phenomena (The Smile of the Child (GR), SOS Desaparecidos (ES), SIULP, the Union of Italian Workers Unitary Police (IT), and the Portuguese Association for Missing Children (PT)), which cooperated with other partner organisations connected to Education and Training (Regional Agency for Work and Learning in Basilicata (IT), p-consulting.gr (GR), OMNIS (IT), EfVET - European Forum of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (BE) and EUROMASC (NO)) to achieve the purposes of the project.

Now that LOST2 is reaching its conclusion, it is time to gather all of its partners, representatives from some of the most relevant and active organisations working in the field of Missing People and Children (including Missing Children Europe and Child Focus) and other professionals for the project's Final Conference, titled Bridging Gaps, Saving Lives: Strengthening Search and Rescue across Europe, to be held in May 21st (14:00 - 17:00 CET), in Brussels (BE). 

LOST2 Final Conference will be an opportunity to hear, debate and network with professionals experienced in the mentioned fields, and to:

  • Gain insights into the latest developments in the Missing People and Children search and rescue;
  • Listen to real-life cases and frontline experiences;
  • Discover how LOST2 project results can enhance professionals' work.

LOST2 Final Conference aims to address the current situation and challenges faced by institutions and professionals working in search and rescue of Missing People and Children, across Europe, and to understand how the training programm "Expert in the Research for Missing People and Minors" developed in LOST2 project (www.https://lost.team/) can support professionals tackling such challenges, and contribute for their up-/ reskilling, under a lifelong learning perspective.
Expected (learning) outcomes
At the end of LOST2 Final Conference, participants will understand:
- The current status of Missing People and Children in Europe, and more specifically in Italy, Norway, Spain and Portugal (countries represented in LOST2 project);
- What are the approaches to search and rescue and professionals' capacitation methods implemented by some of the most relevant organisations working in the phenomena, at European level;
- What are the challenges faced by the professionals working in the Missing People and Children phenomena;
- How can LOST2 project results provide professionals the opportunity to up-/reskill, empowering them to face such challenges.
