Learning Disability Wales - Workplace Wellbeing in Bangor

United Kingdom, Bangor
to

A rise in mental health issues in the general population has contributed to an impact on the mental health issues of the workplace population – almost a third of workers report experiencing issues such as depression, stress and anxiety. To combat against this, many employers are recognising the need to invest in appropriate training to enable staff to understand mental health problems, identify and address them.

Learning Disability Wales will be providing a Workplace Wellbeing course in Bangor, Wales, which will consider ways to improve mental health and wellbeing and explore good practice.

The course will:

  • consider the meaning of workplace wellbeing and apply this to the participants’ own organisations
  • provide a guide to common issues such as depression, anxiety, stress and others
  • explore the right approach to mental health in the workplace and how to create a healthy workplace
  • consider how to support colleagues who are experiencing problems
  • deliver an introduction to mindfulness and how it can benefit organisations

The course will be delivered by Julie Jones who has been trained in Mindfulness, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Her approach is to consider mental health as applying to the whole person, their community and society.

The course will be most beneficial for staff and managers wanting to learn more about mental health and understand how to approach it positively.

Tickets come at a range of prices, with the standard option at £80. Parents and carers, students, concessions and people with learning disabilities all have ticket costs greatly reduced.
