LAUNCH OF THE NEW ERASMUS+ ΚΑ227 PROGRAMME

«ATTACH – the ArT of Theatron As a second Chance» GRANT AGREEMENT No 2020-1-EL01-KA227-ADU-094668 (Key Action 2 Partnerships for Creativity in the field of Adult Education)

The kick-start meeting of the European-funded program entitled «ATTACH - the ArT of Theatron As a second CHance» and Grant Agreement No. 2020-1-EL01-KA227-ADU-094668 took place on Friday 11/3/2022 in Volos at the premises of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the University of Thessaly. The program is implemented and coordinated by the Second Chance School of Domokos (SDE Domokou).

The consortium of the program along with SDE Domokou, comprises the University of Thessaly (Greece) with the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Balamòs Teatro (Italy), Théâtre de l’Opprimé (France) and Eurosuccess Consulting (Cyprus).

The program aims to teach the art of theatre to groups of inmates in Greece, Italy and France and exploit all the advantages that theatre as the 6th art could offer to them. Moreover, the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering will create an online platform that will facilitate the interaction and communication among theatrical groups and actively contribute to overcoming any communication barriers imposed by the long-distance among countries.

At the meeting, which took place with a hybrid presence of the partners (both online and live), all the details regarding the implementation of the project were discussed, the main objectives to be achieved during the collaboration were agreed upon and all the necessary forthcoming actions were planned. The partner from Cyprus (Eurosuccess), presented the basic principles of the evaluation tool which will be created to monitor the evolution of the project, while the representative of the University of Thessaly presented a preliminary version of the platform (e-attach) which will be created in order to orchestrate communication among the teams (e.g. uploading text, photos and other material that will be shared among the 3 teams whereas through the instructors will be transferred to the detainees-trainees).

The representatives of the 3 theatrical groups (Apicco Community in collaboration with SDE Domokou, Balamòs Teatro and Théâtre de l’Opprimé) demonstrated their excitement at the prospect of this coexistence and are excitedly waiting for the forthcoming actions of the project. The interaction that will occur between them will greatly contribute to the introduction of new teaching methods for each group.

The next meeting of the group representatives is scheduled to take place next October in Venice where the theatrical group of the Théâtre de l’Opprimé from Paris is going to teach theatre to inmates, trainers, and the representatives of the project partners.

A beautiful journey has just begun: "Let's Theatre!".
