J.O.B –Join our Business. Boosting self-employment and entrepreneurship of people with special needs
According to the statistics it is a fact that among the people with disabilities in the labour market, a larger proportion of the people are self-employed. In many countries, this is an involuntary outcome that reflects the lack of opportunities in other types of employment. These people need support to find their own business, have spme entrepreneurship skills and sell their own products through an online portal. This is particularly the starting point of the project idea.
The J.O.B project is the common effort of two partners from Greece and Turkey in order to empower and integrate people with disabilities into the labor market, reduce their exclusion, increase their employment.
This project is designed, primarily, with the aim of increasing employment, encouraging cooperation and lifelong learning by developing skills such as entrepreneurship, digital competence and network. Specific results of the project are:
1. Platform for connecting people with disabilities and employers
2. Entrepreneurship courses and Webinars
3. A virtual online store created by trainees.
The project has been providing valuable assistance to the people with disabilities to solve problem of unemployment and gain the skills necessary to promote entrepreneurship.
