Implementation of the project "International learning mobility of students and graduates as well as vocational education staff" by ZSDGiL from Jarosław in Spain
The Team of Road-Surveying and Secondary Schools from Jarosław implemented the project "International educational mobility of students and graduates as well as vocational education staff" implemented from POWER funds on the basis of the Erasmus + Vocational Education and Training sector. The project included the following activities: preparation and implementation of apprenticeships for 21 students in foreign training institutions and companies in Spain and job shadowing training for 4 teachers. The host institution was a group of Vocational Training Centers from the Castile and Leon Province, which, together with companies from the region, are associated with the Vocational Training Consortium. When selecting a partner, important was his previous experience in implementing apprenticeships under EU programs, conducting training tailored to the needs of the labour market and ensuring a high level of implementation of the assumed tasks. The choice fell on the Consortium because it has extensive experience in implementing Erasmus + projects, both as a sending and a host organization.
From 4 to 22 October 2021, a group of students with geodetic education completed their internships in Valladolid, Spain. During the internship, students had the opportunity to operate surveying instruments and equipment used in Spanish institutions, participate in geodetic works and lectures related to geodetic measurements, and broaden their knowledge and skills in geodetic works performed by employees from the industry. It was an opportunity to exchange professional experience or observe educational methods in another country and learn about the culture, history, mentality, and customs of everyday life in Spain.
During the internship, our students had the opportunity to perform geodetic tasks and gain experience in various interesting places, e.g.
- at the "Winner Verdeal" vineyard in La Seca, where they determined the slope for a new plantation on the vineyard with the help of a leveller;
- on the photovoltaic farm where they measured the newly built solar panels and the location of the storage reservoir;
- in ruins of a former hospital, where they made inventory measurements and determined the area and cubature of the rooms.
The students also participated in the inventory of the historic building - Medina del Campo's Castle - by scanning the castle's premises. They got acquainted with the study of displacements and deformations on the example of a dam. They made situational and height measurements of extensive historic buildings on the example of the "The Canal of Castile" canal, taking measurements to determine the slope in a given section of the canal.
Job shadowing
In the weekly training program (February 14 - 18, 2022), our teachers got acquainted with the principles of the host institution - CIFP JUAN DE HERRERA in Valladolid, teaching profiles, didactic base and the method of conducting classes. The job shadowing training allowed for establishing direct contacts with foreign institutions, observing the classes conducted by Spanish teachers, getting to know the Spanish vocational education system, and learning about the working conditions in a foreign training institution and the functioning of vocational schools and training centres. Teachers had the opportunity, together with the Spanish staff, to analyze the vocational education systems of both countries. Particularly interesting was the exchange of experiences on the responsibilities of teachers and the assessment system in Poland and Spain. An important point of the training was the teachers' discussion on the cooperation of vocational schools with enterprises and the adaptation of the educational offer to the needs of the labour market. The experience gained abroad could be transferred to the domestic market, and our school's acquired social and professional skills could be used. The cooperation established in Spain contributed to the planned visit of Spanish teachers in related subjects at ZSDGiL in Jarosław.
