II International EPALE Conference

On 9th and 10th November 2017, the II Regional Conference EPALE (Electronic Platform for Adult Education in Europe) was held at Hotel Bosna in Banja Luka organized by the Agency for Pre-primary, Primary and Secondary Education of Bosnia and Herzegovina.The theme of the conference was Quality in adult education, and the conference was attended by over 80 participants - adult education experts from several European countries (Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina). The conference was organized by NSS teams of Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina in role of a host. During the two-day work of the conference, experts in the field of adult education were informed about the latest trends and current events at the state, regional and European level, including examples of good practice. It is important to point out that the nature of the conference has shifted to the international level and thus raised the quality of work.

The conference was officially opened, on behalf of the Minister of Civil Affairs, by Deputy Minister Vojin Mijatovic, and on behalf of the host, by Deputy Director of the Agency for Pre-primary, Primary and Secondary Education, Siniša Gatarić.

The first day of the conference began with the presentation of the Director of the Andragogical Centre of  Slovenia (ACS), Andrej Sotošek, on the topic "Development of quality systems in the field of adult education" Gordana Bošković, Adult Education Adviser, The Center for Professional Education of Montenegro spoke about "Quality Indicators in Adult Education", and Ivana Vulic, Foundation Tempus Serbia, on "The quality of the career guidance and counseling." In the second part of the day we had two educational and professional presentations entitled "Online Advertising", by Amra Sofić and "Security and data protection on the Internet", by Samir Mujović.

On the second day we had presentations held by Tatjana Vulin, Open University "Ante Babić" Umag, "Institutions for adult education as stakeholders of the regional development of lifelong learning", prof.dr. Senada Dizdar, Faculty of Philosophy, University of Sarajevo, "Adult Education in a Networked Society", Amina Isanović Hadžiomerović, Faculty of Philosophy, University of Sarajevo, "EPALE as a foundation for transformative learning" and prof.dr. Mirjana Mavrak with the theme "EPALE between theory needs, quality in education and research opportunities".

 Through formal and informal part of the conference participants had the opportunity to network at the regional level realize mutual cooperation. This proved to be a great advantage for providers in Bosnia and Herzegovina who are preparing new programs for its students.

On November 10th, the EPALE meeting of the National Support Services of Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina was held on which we exchanged experiences and examples of good practice and negotiated future cooperation. Through a rich program of conferences prominent experts in adult education, ICT technology and media for advertising informed the participants, conveyed to them my experiences and enable acquisition of new adult education knowledge and skills, which also acquired the ability to increase the quality of their work to a higher level.

Nfter the final part, the national coordinator for EPALE Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Fazlic, thanked all the participants and lecturers for their contribution and closed this year's conference and announced the III International EPALE Conference which will take place in Montenegro.
