High Level of Participation in the "Parenting School" Courses Based on the Maarif Model in Balıkesir

In Balıkesir, courses organized within the scope of the “Parenting School” project — an initiative of the Ministry of National Education aligned with the Türkiye Century Education Model — have drawn significant interest from parents.

The courses, launched by the Balıkesir Provincial Directorate of National Education as part of the Maarif Model, aim to strengthen communication between school and family, support children’s holistic development, and improve parental competencies in line with contemporary educational approaches. Held in collaboration with Public Education Centers and school administrations, these trainings focus on topics such as effective parenting, values education, digital literacy, emotional intelligence, and child psychology.

As of today, nearly 5,000 parents across the province have participated in the courses. The “Parenting School” program has been especially well-received in central districts such as Karesi and Altıeylül, as well as in many other districts of Balıkesir. Feedback from participants highlights that the trainings have increased parental awareness and contributed positively to their relationships with their children.

The Balıkesir Provincial Directorate of National Education continues to expand the program, which aligns with the vision of raising individuals who are morally and intellectually equipped — a central goal of the Maarif Model.
