Green Business Academy
The general objective of the Programme is to support, through lifelong learning, the educational, professional and personal development of people in education, training, youth and sport, in Europe and beyond, thereby contributing to sustainable growth, quality jobs and social cohesion, to driving innovation, and to strengthening European identity and active citizenship.
The biggest challenge for today's companies is to meet sustainability requirements. Although European companies are at the global forefront in tackling this issue, for historical and developmental reasons there are huge differences in professional preparedness between regions.
The main reasons why companies in the Eastern European region are lagging behind are the lack of relevant knowledge of the managers in charge. This recognition has led to the concept of the Certified Sustainability Manager (CSM). In the last year, CSM training has been launched in Hungary with great success, aiming to provide a broad, all-encompassing basic knowledge to business professionals interested in the subject. The CSM course consists of five broad modules which focus on a specific topic and are further split into five sub-units. Each unit was prepared and recorded by local top experts in each field. This course should give managers a broad overview to better understand sustainability challenges and learn about opportunities to overcome them.
During our project the CSM course is adapted to Slovak and Czech environment, and further 6 specialised units will be developed focusing on 6 different industries: chemistry, mobility, construction, local government, food, energy.
First pilot course has already been implemented in Prague on the 14th of September 2023 with great success.
