Great opportunity with Erasmus+

"Fully Trained and Dedicated Teachers For A European School With Happy, Kind, Valued Children project" was implemented in our school between 01.08.2017 – 31.07.2019. Being part of a community affected by unemployment and poverty is a real challenge for teachers to achieve visible results with particular groups of students, therefore, the implementation of this project funded by the European Union Erasmus+ programme was a great opportunity for us. It aimed to develop and promote an inclusive education, we reached the objectives by organizing 14 mobilities and 10 teachers participated in training courses to improve their competences in working with students from vulnerable groups. They have achieved basic skills for using ICT in their teaching activity, they have learnt new techniques of nonformal education, teaching methods based on cooperation, and how to design and implement these activities, as well as how to transfer the nonformal educational methods into a formal context.

The participation in these training courses has determined a positive change in the teachers’ professional life and therefore a beneficial effect on the quality of provided educational services that they offer to their students. Real improvement of students’ results and also better relationships in school could be seen even from the first year of the project. At the end of the second year, students started to have better results, considering their grades and results at the national exams. The number of absences and violence acts decreased significantly. Also, in the second year of the project, many student teams received valuable recognition, first prizes and distinctions in contests and festivals, and the prestige of the school is at a high level in our town, but also at the county and national level.

The project already has a real impact on our community, the relationships between the school and local authorities being better and the school’s partners get involved more in the school’s life.
