Global Alliance for Literacy webinar

The UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning (UIL) has planned a webinar around the topic of literacy as an integral part of the right to education. Indeed, literacy is a fundamental right and key to lifelong learning and sustainable development. It empowers individuals, improves well-being, boosts social and economic inclusion, and helps reduce poverty. Yet, 754 million youth and adults—two-thirds of them women—still lack basic literacy and numeracy skills. Most live in 31 countries that are part of the UNESCO Global Alliance for Literacy, committed to addressing this challenge. Since 2016, the Alliance has led global efforts, offering a platform to share progress, challenges, and best practices.
This webinar will spotlight literacy educators as drivers of change. Join the webinar to discover early research insights, hear from experts, and take part in engaging discussions, at this link.
