German Language Course (Advanced Level)

This advanced program will offer you the challenge and depth required to elevate your German language skills to the next level while deepening your appreciation of German culture.
During this course, you will attend morning language classes specifically designed for your high-level competencies and needs, and then participate in cultural activities, guided tours, and excursions.
These experiences will allow you to observe and absorb authentic communication practices and be guided by local professional teachers.
By the end of this course, you will have greatly expanded your knowledge and understanding of the German language and culture and gained new tools and perspectives to bring back to your profession.
What is included

The course will help the participants to:
- Improve their German language skills (speaking, writing, listening, and reading);
- Gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of German culture;
- Experience learning activities that engage all language skills in the classroom;
- Enhance their teaching skills by reflecting on their profession and comparing different teaching practices.
Tentative schedule
Day 1 – Course introduction & setting goals
- Introduction to the course, the school, and the external week activities;
- Presentations of the participants’ schools;
- Identification of needs and goals for each participant and relevant populations.
Day 2 – Precision in language use
- Grammar: advanced tenses review (Perfekt, Plusquamperfekt, Konjunktiv II, passive);
- Vocabulary: collocations and fixed expressions;
- Speaking: sharing detailed stories or past experiences using accurate structures;
- Listening: short audio clips from real-life contexts.
Day 3 – Opinions and arguments
- Grammar: reported speech, connectors, and discourse markers;
- Vocabulary: useful phrases for expressing opinions, agreeing and disagreeing;
- Speaking: building and defending an argument in small groups or debates;
- Reading/listening: analyzing short articles or videos.
Day 4 – German for work and study
- Grammar: advanced sentence structure and clear linking of ideas;
- Vocabulary: terms for emails, meetings, and formal presentations;
- Speaking: short presentations, taking part in formal discussions or planning sessions;
- Writing: composing emails, short proposals, or summaries in a formal register.
Day 5 – Real-life situations and cultural awareness
- Grammar: integrated review in context;
- Vocabulary: idiomatic language and regionally common expressions;
- Speaking: roleplays based on real situations (job interview, customer issue);
- Group task: solving a problem together and presenting the solution;
- Final session: practical ways to keep improving your German.
Day 6 – Course closure and cultural activities
- Course evaluation: round-up of acquired competencies, feedback, and discussion;
- Awarding of the course Certificate of Attendance;
- Excursion and other external cultural activities.
Dates and Price
Please check the webpage of the course to see all the updated confirmed sessions and additional locations. We confirm the sessions when there is a minimum number of participants. You can register for any date, even if it's not yet confirmed, especially if you're interested in courses several weeks away. Once we have a few more enrollments, we will confirm the date on our website. If we are unable to confirm it, we will offer you alternative options.
The price of the course is 480€, but a 60 € late registration fee will be applied if you register less than 8 weeks before the course start date. All prices are VAT-included or not due.
