On Thursday, 31st of January in Bihać, representatives of DVV International - Country Office B&H held a meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Una-Sana Canton headed by  Mr. Damir Omerdić.

The topic of the meeting was Implementation of upcoming activities in the field of adult education as a response to the current needs of the educational system and problems and challenges that the canton faces, with a particular focus on preventing malversations.

Based on the results of analysis of laws and regulation conducted beforehand within the DVV International’s activities, representatives of the ministry announced elaboration of a completely new law on adult education. Thus, current discrepancies with the state document „Principles and Standards in the Field of Adult Education“ adopted in 2014, as well as those with the existing legislation of other administrative units, will be overcome.

A key activity of DVV International in 2019 for the ministry will be the introduction of software for monitoring of adult education system which will be installed in the ministry and in all registered providers of adult education in Una-Sana Canton. Besides, this-year cooperation foresees capacity building activities for the department for adult education within the ministry, the organization of a roundtable on adult education, support to the elaboration of a strategy for adult education, and other activities which will be defined in a memorandum of cooperation.
