Folk Voices
You can listen to Finnish, Hungarian, and Latvian folk songs at our dance house on Saturday, October 21st!
In another international project, this time examining the transmission of singing traditions, the Hagyományok Háza is a partner. The international collaboration explores the methodology of vocal teaching within the framework of three major events, two of which, the Finnish and Latvian ones, have already taken place in the summer of 2023. In October, we look forward to welcoming the participants of the project supported by the Erasmus+ program to the Hagyományok Háza to introduce them to Hungarian vocal teaching, Hungarian folk songs, and the activities of the house in even greater depth.
In the first singing camp of the project titled "The Pedagogy of Intergenerational Transmission of Traditional Cultures," the Fuvalom Vocal Ensemble (Kakucs Katalin, Okos Viola, Sárközi Mária Stella, Egyed Réka) represented us, while the contributors to the second and third camps were Bolyki Sára and her music academy students. At the events, participants had the opportunity to learn Finnish, Latvian, and Hungarian folk songs, which they also performed together in the camps. The closing concert of the Budapest camp will take place in our traditional Saturday dance house on October 21st, and we welcome everyone to the event with open arms!
The initiator of the project is the Finnish Hytkyt Choir, and its partners are the KasTe Latvian cultural organization and band, as well as the Hagyományok Háza. The project is supported by the Erasmus+ program.
