The First LTT Meeting of “Designing a 3D Virtual Environment for Teaching IoT” Project
The first Learning teaching training activity of Erasmus+ KA2 project with the title; “Designing a 3D Virtual Environment for Teaching IoT” was held between 25th and 29th June 2018 in the premises of AKETH-DCT, Greece. Three teachers from Marmara University, Turkey; 3 teachers from Gebze Halk Egitimi Merkezi,Turkey; 4 teachers from SPOLECZNA AKADEMIA Nauk of Poland, and 3 teachers from the Lancaster University of England participated in the learning, teaching, training activity.
The aim of the project is to develop a virtual three-dimensional laboratory environment and provide education of the internet of things on this platform. At the end of this project, we will create a virtual classroom where IoT is taught, and innovative and different training contents which can be used during these classes. Besides a virtual classroom, a virtual centre where students do research and development will be created.
At the first meeting in Greece, the teachers were trained about IoT in everyday life and education. Also, there were three workshops about: 1.Using SCiO molecular sensor. SCiO is the first pocket sized molecular sensor and a great example of how IoT can change our lives. With SCiO you can scan objects and materials around you and get instant information about their chemical makeup sent directly to your smartphone.2. Using and programming proximity beacons for educational purposes. 3. Creating augmented reality learning content with HP Reveal (New Aurasma).
