Erasmus K2 project named ‘ I choose not to place dis in my ability ‘ project participants (Italy, Poland, Bosnia and Herzegovina,İzmir -Tire) have met in Cihanbeyli.

The participants from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Poland, Italy and Tire-İzmir who are partners of our Erasmus K2 project named ‘ I choose not to place dis in my ability ‘ whose coordinator is Cihanbeyli Public Education Center visited The Life Center for Disabled People. Information about courses and studies for adults with disabilities were given. The workshops where adult disabled people are educated were visited and workshops were held together. 

The participants visited Meram Cumhuriyet Primary School and saw how the Syrian students and also refugee disabled students are integrated into the Turkısh Education System. The presentation of our system related to the education of migrant and refugee disabled children, which is one of the objectives of our project, was made by our Konya province national education branch director Nadi Soylu. Nadi SOYLU also gave statistical information about the number and training of refugees in Turkey.

The participants held a conference to introduce their institutions to our special education teachers, guidance teachers, and school administrators in Cihanbeyli.

 Also, The participants visited our Guidance and Research Center in our district. Zeliha KUZGUN, the manager of guidance and research center, gave information about the disability education system in Turkey.

    The education of adults with disabilities is an issue to be emphasized. But it also an area that is not easy to work with. İt is clear that project outcomes are important for the education of adults with disabilities. I hope that the number of such projects will increase.
