On 9th October 1989, 30 years ago today, the demonstration of more than 70,000 citizens took place in Leipzig, initiating the internal and external opening of GDR society. Many things became possible all at once. Many became active. And there was much discussion. The "Wende" or "Revolution" of 1989 was also the work of women. Find out how the Erasmus+ project «Connecting Memories. The Power of the Past and the Future of Europe» contributes to the public appreciation of individual actors and women's groups.

This blog summarises personal reflections on a professional development day spent with middle managers from three further education colleges looking at ‘developing a culture of excellence through collaboration’. The event was facilitated by Sue Keenan of Myerscough, Stef Wilkinson from Barnsley and Tam Breeze from Kendal who took the participants on a journey exploring curriculum, through organisational strategy to the importance of culture. It relates to the findings of the Healthy, Wealthy and Wise: implications for workforce development report and forms of the ninth blog of the series.
