Donegal's First Further Education & Training (FET) Service Student Voice Forum

by Laura Austen-Gray
Language: EN

Donegal Education and Training Board's (ETB's) Further Education and Training (FET) Service will host its first ever independent Student Voice Forum during Feburary 2020, in Donegal, Ireland.

The Forum aims to collect feedback from FET students on the effectiveness of Donegal’s FET provision to ensure that it is responsive to student needs. Donegal ETB’s FET Service aims to empower students by providing appropriate ways of listening to their concerns, interests and needs in order to develop a suitable and proactive educational experience. Student views are essential to the development of policy and planning and for improving the quality of the FET Service.

The event will take place on 11 February from 9.30am-2.30pm. One hundred students from across various full-time and part-time FET programmes and courses offered by Donegal ETB have been invited to attend. The event will open with a welcome speech from the FET Director, Cróna Gallagher, followed by guest speakers. Students will participate in a variety of activities to capture their thoughts, ideas and experiences of their educational journey with Donegal ETB.

Many of Donegal ETB’s Further Education and Training courses are co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Social Fund as part of the ESF Programme for Employability, Inclusion and Learning (PEIL) 2014-2020, with additional funding from the Youth Employment Initiative for Youthreach
