DIRA- "Digital Inclusion for Roma Adults"
Since September 2022, the Association for the development of the Roma community " Romni APS" has started the implementation of a new cooperation partnership under Erasmus + the program "Digital Inclusion for Roma Adults: Gaining Knowledge and Skills in eServices - DIRA (Digital inclusion of Roma adults: acquisition of knowledge and skills for the use of electronic services).
The main objective of the project is to improve the socio-economic situation of Roma adults through education in the field of information technology and the development of digital skills and competences to enable the adult population and socially excluded persons to use accessible electronic services in their environment, and to be better included in their communities and societies.
The introductory meeting of the partnership was held online on 27 September 2022. During the meeting, partner organizations from Finland, North Macedonia, Italy and Serbia met and discussed the project and project tasks. In addition, meetings were organized for financial management and dissemination activities. As part of the monitoring, online meetings will be held every beginning of the month to monitor the implementation of activities and resolve current issues.
The first activities include the development of a general questionnaire for all participating countries and national questionnaires for each participating country in order to investigate the needs and situation of Roma communities in the field of digital knowledge and skills. The implementation of the surveys and the analysis of the results will be completed by the end of the year. The project is co-funded by the European Commission through the Erasmus+ programme, and is coordinated by the Finnish Deaconess foundation.
