The Adult Education Institution Dante from Rijeka, Croatia is offering a KA1 Creative and Modern Language Teaching course during the summer - in June, July, and August of 2019

The course is aimed at:

  • language teachers (primary, secondary, vocational, university, adult)
  • teacher trainers.

Course fee: EUR 450
The course includes preparation for the course, training and working materials, administration costs, and organisational costs.
The course fee must be paid 45 days prior to the start of the course.
Cancellation charges: EUR 350.

Course follow-up
All materials, activities, and handouts used in the course will be available for download in a shared Google Drive folder.
The trainers will also be available for online communication after the course is finished.

About the organiser

Dante offers a variety of regional and international adult education workshops, courses, and programmes for foreign language learning, teacher training, transferable skills training, entrepreneurship and management training, as well as language and vocational courses for migrants.

Dante has considerable experience in international cooperation and partnerships, carrying out European projects since 2009. Dante has participated in the Lifelong Learning Programme, the Erasmus+ Programme (KA1 and KA2 projects) and the European Social Fund. Dante is also an ordinary member of the European Association for the Education of Adults (EAEA).

Aims and objectives: 
The course will provide teachers with a range of creative methods and activities for all language skills (reading, listening, speaking, writing, grammar and vocabulary) as well as guidelines on and examples of using and integrating digital tools into their teaching. Emphasis is placed on practical examples and activities that can be adapted for various purposes and across different languages. Teachers will also be provided with example activities for all types of classroom dynamics (individual, pairwork, groupwork) and for encouraging cooperative learning. Participants will have the opportunity to practise a range of activities and methods that will increase their students' motivation and participation in class. Teachers will also be able to increase communication and interaction of students in class, creating a positive and encouraging teaching environment. Teachers will have the opportunity to update and refresh their knowledge and exchange their experiences and examples of good practice with other teachers.
Expected (learning) outcomes: 
After completing the course, participants will be able to: • employ a range of innovative and creative methods and activities in their language classes • use digital tools to make activities more interactive or interesting for their students • adapt an activity for different knowledge levels and language skills • use interactive methods and activities to increase student motivation and participation • meet colleagues from other European countries, share experiences and examples of good practice
Recognition/certification of participation: 
Upon completion of the course, each participant will be awarded a certificate of attendance, together – if requested – with a Europass Mobility Certificate. If the participants’ education institution requires any additional documents to certify the competences learned, we can provide those documents upon request as well.
