to

Climate Justice - A workshop for adult educators is designed by Global Action Plan and delivered by expert Climate Justice/ Global Citizenship educator Sofia Marchesini.

Climate Justice for Adult Educators.

The 4 day course will enable adult educators to incorporate climate justice themes within their day-to-day educational practice. We also are particularly interest in sharing experiences and best practices with peer educators from other European perspectives.

The course will be delivered in English

Course objectives - By the end of this course, participants will be better able to:

  • Identify principles and themes underpinning Climate Justice Education (CJE).
  • Understand key concepts, frameworks and theories of climate change and climate justice.
  • Connect CJE to broader social justice frameworks – e.g. the Sustainable Development Goals, Global Citizenship Education and Just Transition.
  • Experience participative, adult-appropriate teaching and learning approaches that will build critical understanding of climate justice issues.
  • Understand the cruciality of collective action (rather than individual action) in addressing the climate crisis.
  • Devise strategies to embed CJE into existing programmes and courses for adult learners.
  • Identify innovative approaches that could be implemented across the Adult Education Service.
  • Share best practice with other educators around creating just educational responses to the climate crisis.
