Climate Justice - A short course for adult educators

Climate Justice - A workshop for adult educators is designed by Global Action Plan and delivered by expert Climate Justice/ Global Citizenship educator Sofia Marchesini.

The 4 day course will enable adult educators to incorporate climate justice themes within their day-to-day educational practice. We also are particularly interest in sharing experiences and best practices with peer educators from other European perspectives.
The course will be delivered in English
Course objectives - By the end of this course, participants will be better able to:
- Identify principles and themes underpinning Climate Justice Education (CJE).
- Understand key concepts, frameworks and theories of climate change and climate justice.
- Connect CJE to broader social justice frameworks – e.g. the Sustainable Development Goals, Global Citizenship Education and Just Transition.
- Experience participative, adult-appropriate teaching and learning approaches that will build critical understanding of climate justice issues.
- Understand the cruciality of collective action (rather than individual action) in addressing the climate crisis.
- Devise strategies to embed CJE into existing programmes and courses for adult learners.
- Identify innovative approaches that could be implemented across the Adult Education Service.
- Share best practice with other educators around creating just educational responses to the climate crisis.
