Cities4apprenticeship

The European Commission in collaboration with Città Metropolitana di Roma Capitale is developing a European Network of Cities for Apprenticeships. This network aims to raise awareness on the role of the cities in supporting apprenticeships in collaboration with regional and national stakeholders, to become an advocacy platform, and to provide cities with information, training, and technical and policy assistance.

The Covid19 outbreak is already rewriting our daily life, our jobs and education. If it has any silver lining, it is the possibility of a much-needed reset in public dialogue that focuses attention on the most vulnerable in society, on the need for global cooperation, and on the importance of timely connecting skills and jobs. Forward-thinking and citizens centric cities are destinated to become tomorrow’s leaders.

The network will play a proactive role in encouraging development of  green skills as well as digital skills in apprenticeships. If you are interested to join the network or you would like to refer a city/local authority, please fill in this online form.

The network will start its activities in June 2020 through a series of virtual and live workshops. During these events, the members will contribute to shaping the network presenting their expectations and ideas. At the same time, the workshops will become catalyst for discussions on the role of cities in developing and implementing apprenticeships. The first online workshop will take place on Thursday 11 June 2020.

The European Network of Cities for Apprenticeship is an initiative supported by the European Alliance for Apprenticeships. You can read more about the Alliance here.

If you need any assistance or further information, do not hesitate to contact the European Network of Cities for Apprenticeship at the Metropolitan City of Rome sending an e mail to: sivale@cittametropolitanaroma.gov.it
