Coaching and Mentoring Skills
Topic/ theme: Mentorate, Coaching, Pedagogy and didactics
Sending partners: educational organizations involved in formal, non-formal and informal learning: schools, adult training centers, resource centers and other relevant organization active in the adult education field established in Erasmus+ program countries.
Participants: 15-25 adults involved in education
Course fee: According to the Erasmus+ guide, 80 euros / training day, including course preparation, training, training materials, administration costs, organizational costs, 24 hours emergency support.

Description:
This Coaching and Mentoring training course is designed to give you the practical tools and techniques needed to get started with successful coaching and mentoring today.
The course focuses on three key areas: foundations, principles and practice.
Each of these will be explored throughout the training to help you plan for an effective session, get the most out of the person you are coaching or mentoring, coach or mentor with consistency, and avoid common errors that people often make when coaching or mentoring without the right tools to hand.
OBJECTIVES:
Develop a practical, working definition of coaching and mentoring.
Understand the rationale for using coaching and mentoring and the prerequisites for making it successful.
Learn and apply the seven principles of effective coaching and mentoring.
Develop frameworks and scripts for efficient coaching and mentoring sessions.
Evaluate coaching and mentoring by considering sustainable impact and ROI (return on investment).
COURSE OUTCOMES:
Upon completing this course, participants should be able to:
• Clarify what is meant by mentoring and coaching
• Explain the relationship between mentoring and coaching
• Explain the importance of knowledge in mentoring
• Use questioning techniques to identify the needs of the learner
• Explore the values and attitudes necessary for coaching and mentoring
• Discuss the roles and responsibilities when coaching and mentoring
• List the benefits of coaching and mentoring for the organization
• Give honest feedback and encourage learners to develop a self-critical approach
• Explain how to set up, monitor and evaluate a mentorship programme
• Identify obstacles to, and challenges within, coaching and mentorship programmes
• Apply skills and techniques necessary for effective mentoring and coaching
• Develop a plan for individual coaching and mentoring within a team environment
• Prepare strategies around cross-cultural mentoring
Methodology
Most of the educational approaches are inspired from constructivist pedagogy.
The project has a holistic approach and uses various tools during the different activities.
