EPALE Malta Contributor Contests 2023

Are you an Adult Learning and Education (ALE) educator/practitioner, researcher, organisation, or policy maker with a passion for sharing your knowledge and experiences? 

Do you want to showcase your or your organisation’s work and make valuable connections with a thriving community of over 140,000 members in 37 countries making a difference in ALE?

Then EPALE is for you!

The Directorate for Research, Lifelong Learning and Employability (DRLLE) acts as the National Support Service for Malta (NSS Malta), thus aims to play a key role in disseminating information about EPALE amongst Adult learning stakeholders in Malta.

In the context of the European Year of Skills 2023 EPALE wants to highlight the potential of Adult Learning and Education to engage citizens in society and democracy, empower people to successfully navigate labour market changes, and include everyone in learning. To do so, we invite our community to share their experiences on our thematic focuses for 2023.

 

EPALE Malta Contributor Contest 1

Timeline 

Contest 1 will run from 1^st March to 31^st May 2023 (3 months).  

Eligibility

Blog posts by EPALE members registered in Malta during this period (excluding NSS Malta staff and EPALE Ambassadors) will be eligible to participate. 

N.B. Registration for this contest is necessary to signal your interest in participating, and agreement to all Terms and Conditions.

Choice of winner

During the month of June, we will invite a panel of no less than 3 independent, external evaluators to assess each blog posted on EPALE in Malta, including the following criteria: 

Functional:

1. Text length 600-word minimum; 
2. Appropriate writing style for the platform; 
3. Supporting multi-media (e.g., including hyperlinks). 
4. Use of #tags for sub-themes related to the Thematic Focuses 2023 as outlined above.

Content-driven: 

5. Relevance to Adult Learning and Education; 
6. Connection to the 2023 Thematic Focuses; 
7. Adequate referencing (of academic literature and/or online resources) where applicable; 
8. Interactions created for the blog post through comment activity on the platform. 

 The prize will be awarded in person in Malta on the 19^th of July, 2023.

 

EPALE Malta Contributor Contest 2

Timeline 

Contest 2 will run from 1^st March to 30^th November 2023 (9 months).  

Eligibility

Blog posts, News articles, Events or Resources posted by EPALE members registered in Malta during this period (excluding NSS Malta staff and EPALE Ambassadors) will be eligible to participate.

N.B. Registration for this contest is necessary to signal your interest in participating and agree to all Terms and Conditions.

Choice of winner 

This contest will be assessed quantitatively, and a record will be kept of all relevant posts by registered participants for this contest during the contest period. The participant with the most cumulative posts will be awarded the prize of Contest 2. The prize will be awarded in person on the 15^th of December, 2023.

 

Awarding of the Contest prizes

The sole winner of each contest will receive a €450 prize voucher partly funded by  

to be used in the purchase of professional and educational equipment (excluding purely leisure items such as gaming consoles).
