The adult educators of the Institute for Education and Culture Črnomelj (ZIK Črnomelj) took part in a study visit Motivation for Activation and Sustainable Entrepreneurship which took place in Prague from 28th June to 30th June 2019. The visit was part of the project financed by the Slovene Ministry of Education, Science and Sport and targets supporting activities in adult education in 2019.

The main purpose of the project is to raise the competences of adult educators to increase knowledge and motivation of adults for long-life learning. For this reason, a team of adult educators from ZIK Črnomelj got in contact with the The Association of Adult Education Institutions in the Czech Republic (Asociace institucí vzdělávání dospělých ČR, z.s.) and organized a study visit.

Upon arrival in Prague, we were greeted by Mrs. Romana Nováčková, the executive director of the Association. She presented their association and the work its members are doing. We spoke about the education of adults in the Czech Republic in the context of the EU. Together, we visited the Gradua-CEGOS company, where director Mr. Karel Bednář introduced their work in the line of adult learning, company tailored training, technology driven education and HR consulting. We also compared the status of adult education in both countries and exchanged experiences about the challenges we both face.
