SoJust piloting ongoing

The piloting phase has started in the Erasmus+ SoJust project to test the material developed for councellors/educators working with low-educated migrants. The learning material includes tools that the educators/ counselors will use in practice with the migrant adult.
The goal of the learning program is to stimulate educators to acquire social justice competences in guidance. It is appropriate to underline the difference between multicultural orientation training, which focuses only on the social skills of the educator, and orientation training focused on social justice which is, instead, focused on the subjectively defined need by marginalized groups.
Therefore, the primary focus of the learning activities aimed at educators is not (not only) on the cultural dimension but on the ability to recognize and overcome obstacles and tensions related to power and privilege issues that occur with vulnerable groups and that seriously undermine the effectiveness of the guidance process.
In November 2022, the project had transnational meeting in Agueda, Portugal, where all project partners had the opportunity to present their ongoing work with the piloting. Piloting of the learning material for self guided learning and guided learning is now ongoig in all countries.
In February the piloting of the experiential learning will start, in two ways:Testing knowledge/skills achieved (after the theoretical training) within the own institutions;) and critical service learning.
In IO3, the partnership will create a Handbook of guidance practices social justice-focused which is meant to be a practical reference that will allow other organization of the adult education system to benefit from developed outputs and resources in order to apply social justice focused guidance practices into concrete contexts. It consists of a repertoire of social justice-focused practices, developed based on the evidences/lessons learnt during experiential learning (as part of the IO2 pilot test). It aims at systematizeing lessons learnt during pilot test (of IO2) to provide some suggestions to other educators on how best to implement practices to facilitate the recognition and transparency of sociajustice-focused education and guidance practices.
