Insights from a youth exchange in Paphos

👏 The wonderful Erasmus + project “Youth empowerment in connected world“ was held during April 15-25, 2025 in beautiful Cyprus city Paphos.

The project involved teams from Hungary, Italy, Georgia, Greece and Latvia.

Latvia's team had 4 participants and 1 team leader.

⏺️ Projects main aim was to equip participants with essential digital skills. That involves:

➡️ Promote critical thinking and media literacy.➡️ To raise awareness about online safety, cybersecurity, and responsible use of socialmedia.➡️ To promote lifelong learning and adaptability in the rapidly changing digital environment.

🤝 “Youth empowerment in connected world“ partners were “Be Best Hungary”, “BITISI”, “FONDAZIONE ISTITUTO MORCELLIANO”, "GO Alive" and “UENPD” and supported by Erasmus+ 🇪🇺

And now, some reflection from participants 🐰

🏖️ ”“Youth empowerment in connected world“ opened my eyes to how digital tools can be used not only in everyday life, but also at school and work. We analyzed several topics like cyber crimes and fake news. Participants searched information and also shared their own experiences. I’m leaving this exchange with new friends, new tools, and a much stronger filter for online content.” - Markuss Drengers

✈️ ”I’ve done a few international projects before, and this one I will keep in my memory. This project tackled topics I genuinely care about. Like: cyber bullying, online privacy. Also location was really amazing. Paphos is such a wonderful city with warm, welcoming people.” - Enija Krasovska

🏆 ”This project reminded me that young people can create real change, especially when we’re united by ideas and the same aim. We can teach each other so much. Not just about digital skills but also about culture and experiences.” - Anete Ozoliņa

🧁 ”For me, the best part of project were the people. Creating safe space, community, where we can share our thoughts and ideas - it meant alot for me. And although we all came from different backgrounds, we had so much in common.” - Marks Turla

🌅 “In my opinion, Erasmus+ is an amazing opportunity for everyone. It is not just about learning, but also about understanding new cultures and meeting new people. Late night talks and team building is definitely highlights for me.” - Emīlija Luīze Ieviņa
