From its launch in April 2015, EPALE has come a long way in its efforts to become a one-stop shop for adult learning professionals across Europe. Thanks to the community and the National Support Services, over the last 4 years the platform has grown exponentially, hosting thousands of useful resources and articles, and serving as a networking tool for tens of thousands of EPALE members.
We asked our everyday users across Europe how they have benefited from using EPALE, and we shared their stories here. Take a minute to see what the community has to say about the platform and find inspiration for how to best use EPALE for your work.
Find project partners
The EPALE Partner Search tool has been one of our most successful features – a preferred tool by many adult learning professionals interested in collaborating on projects. The tool can be combined with a Collaborative Space to ease the communication between established partners. The Partner Search tool can be used for any project partnerships – not just Erasmus+.
“Within a single day, over 40 organisations and institutions responded to our partner request on EAPLE. Thanks to this request, we have been getting proposals for cooperation to this day.”
Kristijan Bagi, Assistant Director at an Elementary School for Adult Education, Serbia
“Our best experience with EPALE is that during the last month we got approached by 15 different organisations to be part of their Erasmus plus projects and now we are working on different Erasmus project applications.”
Soňa Stefkova, Head of TOPCOACH, Slovakia
“The platform is a very useful tool for communication with our project partners. Since the first year of the project, we have created a Collaborative Space on the platform, where we collect project-related resources, accessible to all members of the collaborative space at any time.”
Nicoletta Ioannou, Project Manager for EAAL, Cyprus
“EPALE helps us to start new projects, allowing us to contact other organisations.”

“It is easy to grow professionally with the help of the EPALE community. By spreading knowledge and experience across Europe, EPALE helps us to develop and deliver better services and to meet adult learners’ needs.”

Communication and networking
Right from the start, one of the main aims of EPALE has been to consolidate the segmented adult learning sector across Europe, offering people a platform to communicate, network and exchange best practices. We’re happy to see that we have started to make a difference through features such as the Communities of Practice and online events:
“Communities of Practice on EPALE are a really useful way of keeping in touch with people between meetings, looking back at documents that people have placed there, or staying in contact with people who may be scattered all over the world.”
Cath Harcula, Head of Adult Learning Services (retired), UK
“Finding out about EPALE and becoming a part of an international project with the help of the paltform means a lot to me and my organisation. The experience and good practice from other European countries gave us new ideas and strength to continue to do our best and make changes to adult education in Bosnia and Herzegovina.”
Slavica Jukić, Coordinator for the Social-Educational Centre, Bosnia and Herzegovina
“EPALE has brought together different adult learning professionals. As a result, people from different fields started to communicate with each other.”
Kaido Vestberg, Estonian Association of Training and Consulting Companies, Estonia
“EPALE has given me the opportunity to see the point of view of adult learning stakeholders from all over Europe. #epalerocks”
Tino Boubaris, Project coordinator, Germany
“EPALE has helped our institution to improve its standing thanks to the promotion of our projects and resources.”
Diego Redondo Martínez, Headmaster at CEPA Sierra Norte, Spain
Whether you are a practitioner or a policymaker, a project manager, a researcher or a journalist – EPALE can offer something for everyone interested in the adult learning sector.
