Erasmus+ mobility projects 2018

In addition to internationalisation, the goal of the mobility projects is to improve the personnel’s skills and competences while developing the entire organisation. Read more about the projects that received Erasmus+ KA1 financing in 2018 in Finland.

In addition to internationalisation, the goal of the mobility projects is to improve the personnel’s skills and competences while developing the entire organisation. The projects improve the quality of adult education and learning and adults’ ability to respond to the needs of modern society and working life.

In 2018, Erasmus+ KA1 financing for mobility projects was granted to 25 organisations around Finland (the link will open in a Google map)

Omnia, the Joint Authority of Education in the Espoo Region: Muuttuva opettajuus ja tulevaisuuden taidot (The Changing Role of a Teacher and Future Skills)

The project creates operating models that support future skills and that will be used in the development of the transforming upper secondary school.  Teachers get tools for cross-curricular thematic studies and for improving favourable group dynamics and inclusion in teaching and in new learning environments. Visits to educational institutions provide comparative information on the development of pedagogic expertise during a change and offer opportunities to exchange information about teaching practices.

Jyväskylä Educational Consortium: Aikuiskouluttajan uudet näköalat (Adult Learning Trainer’s New Horizons)

The main goal of the project is to strengthen the personnel’s international and multicultural competence and to develop the organisation’s international strategy while motivating and supporting Finnish adult learners in choosing international study modules and taking advantage of free mobility in Europe.

Otava Folk High School: Kulttuurit kohtaavat – Otavan Opisto Euroopassa (Cultural Encounters – Otava Folk High School in Europe)

The project aims at qualitative development and internationalisation. Otava Folk High School aims especially at developing the personnel’s international competence. It is a prominent developer and even a pioneer in Finland in e-learning, multicultural education and training and the utilisation of ICT in teaching. The goal of the project is to give the personnel the opportunity to see what is happening in the fields of teaching, pedagogics, the encountering of multiculturalism and the use of ICT in teaching in Europe, what Otava Folk High School’s standing is internationally and how our own competence compares with European competence. The aim is to develop our own competence on the basis of experiences so that it better meets the students’ needs and the challenges of the changing world.

Helsinki Upper Secondary School for Adults: Miten opettaa teoreettisia aineita toiminnallisesti ja luovasti (How to Teach Theoretical Subjects through Activity and Creativity)

The starting point for the project is the use of innovation and creativity in teaching with learning-by-doing methods. The new skills are acquired by participating in European courses or visiting schools that are specialised in the use of drama, art, museology, dance, music and creative platforms, such as videos, photography and gamification, in teaching.

Eastern Uusimaa Education Consortium: Vertaistukea arviointiin Euroopasta (Peer Support for Evaluation from Europe)

The goal of the project is to develop the personnel’s competence in many sectors. Due to the transformation of the education and training of adult immigrants, the personnel must strengthen their skills in testing technology, among other things, and reinforce their knowledge about the evaluation of learning.  The project enables us to learn from other countries’ proven practices.

Finnish Federation of Graduate Women: Vertaisoppimista Euroopassa (Peer Learning in Europe) 

The goal of the mobility project is to increase knowledge among the volunteers and personnel in the “Let’s Read Together” network by looking into new learning methods, changes in the education and training of immigrants and different learning environments. Another goal is to create international connections and learn about integration in other countries.

Seinäjoki Adult Education Centre: Seinäjoki Adult Education Centre Goes International

The mobility project is a significant step towards more skilful, open and brave internationalisation. The mobility project helps to gain new networks, experiences and partners from other European countries. It brings international elements into the organisational strategy and teaching methods. Each individual participant of this project gets a chance to develop their own competence.

Axxell Utbildning AB: OsTu -oppia Euroopasta (Identification and Recognition of Competence – Learning from Europe)

The goal of the mobility project is to look into the models for identifying and recognising competence in other countries and to learn new practices for the recognition processes of prior learning. The project increases understanding about and professional skills related to practices for recognising competence and enables the creation of new related practices and processes that can be integrated in the practices of educational institutions.

Pirkan opisto: Tahtoa ja taitoa – tosiaikuiset aktiivitoimijoina (Will and Skill – True Adults as Active Participants)

The goal of the project is to find new perspectives on increasing activity among the ageing population. Already when teaching is being planned, the ageing population should play a more active role when making decisions on the volume, quality and content of teaching targeted at them.  In addition, the project supports our personnel’s internationalisation skills.

Alkio-opiston kannatusyhdistys ry: Liikkuvuuksista laatua (Mobility Generating Quality)

The goal of the project is to train the personnel so that we can provide better service to students and customers whose mother tongue or cultural background is not Finnish. In addition, the project helps the organisation find new internationalisation opportunities in the future. The three main objectives of the project are the improvement of intercultural and language skills, the development and strengthening of pedagogic skills and the development of the organisation’s international activities.

Järvenpään opisto: Henkilökunnan kouluttaminen eurooppalaisten liikkuvuusohjelmien toteuttamiseen (Training the Personnel to Carry Out European Mobility Programmes)

The main goal of the project is to improve the personnel’s intercultural and project management skills. Another goal is to build a European co-operation network and learn from the teaching cultures of different national education systems. We also aim at improving the quality of teaching and co-operation in intercultural projects.

City of Valkeakoski: Hyvinvoinnin rakennuspalikat yhdessä pinoon (Collecting the Elements of Well-being Together)

The goal of the project is to find new teaching and guidance methods, especially from the point of view of well-being. Another goal is to increase cultural knowledge and find new ideas for developing learning environments.

Finnish Lifelong Learning Foundation: Vaikuttavuutta, vertaisoppia ja verkostoja Euroopasta (Effectiveness, Peer Learning and Networks from Europe)

The goal of the project is to strengthen the effectiveness of the Finnish Lifelong Learning Foundation’s activities and to develop current and potential new activities. Another goal is to strengthen new and existing international networks. The project focuses on the Finnish Lifelong Learning Foundation’s three development needs: the development of communications targeted at decision-makers, the investigation and deployment of new models and the strengthening of networks.

Revontuli-opisto: LAPPO – New Competences from Europe to Lapland!

The main goal of the project is to increase international competence and professional skills and to improve the professional quality and language skills of providers of training and education. The project focuses on themes related to language, art and handicraft/design and on the means for developing new innovative learning methods. Other goals include increasing regional co-operation among partners, boosting the establishment of international networks and strengthening knowledge about European adult education.

Oulu-opisto: Oulu-opiston ensiaskeleet kansainvälistymiseen (Oulu-opisto’s First Steps towards Internationalisation)

The goal of the project is to take the first steps towards internationalisation, which provides new perspectives and knowledge as well as an opportunity to update teaching methods and course content. Employees and teachers participating in mobility gain courage for using foreign languages in their daily working lives with foreign students and get personal experiences of internationalisation, among other things.

Vakka-opisto: Vakka-opisto Heading for Europe

The goal of the project is to develop the professional competence of the institute’s teaching personnel and consequently the quality of our teaching. Another goal is to create new contacts and establish international networks. The project focuses on the development of manual skills and language teaching.

Tekniikan museon säätiö: Kokoelmalähtöiset aikuisoppimisen menetelmät (Collection-based Methods for Adult Learning)

The goal of the mobility project is to develop collection-based methods for adult education in the Museum of Technology. The project is looking for an answer to the question “How can adults learn with the help of collections, both in and outside the museum?”. The main goal of the project is to develop new methods and services and to design a new concept for the space where visitors and collections meet in the museum.

City of Rauma: Kulttuuriperinnöstä voimaa ja sisältöä kotoutumiseen (Drive and Content for Integration from Cultural Heritage)

With the project, Rauma Museum increases the personnel’s skills and competence in the interpretation of cultural heritages and in adult education provided in the museum.

Silta-Valmennusyhdistys ry: Bridge to Europe – Improving Adult Education Staff Competences through European Mobility

The goal of the project is to ensure that the personnel’s competence is a better match for the customers’ needs. The project especially focuses on the acquisition of new skills and methods that make it possible to provide education to customers that may have a background involving substance abuse problems or crime or an immigrant background.

KeKo: Kenttäkoulutuksen kehittäminen (Developing Training in the Field)

The goal of the project is to build co-operation and collect good practices related to training in the field.  The goal is to network with other participants, enterprises and partners, to collect best practices for coordinating voluntary work and to exchange ideas, collect methods and build co-operation.

Valo-Valmennusyhdistys ry: European Light – European Mobility to Improve Adult Education Staff Competences

The goal of the project is to improve the personnel’s competence in two main fields: teaching basic skills (literacy, numeracy and digital skills) to adults and identifying and recognising skills acquired through non-formal learning (e.g. work-place learning).

Toimela ry/Southern Helsinki Adult Education Centre: Pedagogisen digiosaamisen kehittäminen henkilöliikkuvuuden avulla (Developing Pedagogic Digital Skills through Mobility of People)

The key goals of the project are to develop teaching methods, with which the organisation and teachers can offer fully or partially location- or time-independent teaching, and methods for better meeting the needs related to developing each individual’s skills and competence in different age groups while expanding and deepening teachers’ pedagogic skills.

Spring House Oy: Toisen kielen kielitaidon kehittäminen työssä ja työpaikalla (TOKIKE) (Development of Second-Language Skills at Work (TOKIKE))

The goal of the project is to develop new innovative teaching methods for teaching language skills at work, to renew learning tools and materials in order to improve efficiency and to develop teaching content so that teaching is better suited to an adult learner’s linguistic needs.

Åbo Akademi University: Kvalitet och kunnande (Quality and Competence)

The purpose of the project is to improve the quality of the organisation’s operations. With mobility, the aim is to develop the personnel’s competence and renew course concepts. The overall goal is to create new innovative learning environments, to improve comprehensive project management and to build long-term international co-operation.
