Educational materials and tools supporting inclusion of migrant women in VET

Using Theory of Change (TοC) in the process of inclusion of migrant women in VET.

Theory of Change (TοC) is a reliable, standardised method with the advantage of engaging all participants in a co-creation process, namely involving target groups in change-making.

The theory of Change focuses on a long-term goal and can be used effectively in integrating migrant women into the vocational education and training system (VET) and improving their integration into the labour market and society.

Deinde sp. z o. o. together with its Partners: HIP - HUB FOR INNOVATION POLICY S.R. L (Romania), RESEARCH AND EDUCATION OF SOCIAL EMPOWERMENT AND TRANSFORMATION N-RESET LTD (Cyprus), AINTEK SYMVOULOI EPICHEIRISEON EFARMOGES YPSILIS TECHNOLOGIAS EKPAIDEFSI ANONYMI (Greece), CESIE (Italy), STICHTING LEARNING HUB FRIESLAND (Netherlands) is being implemented the project "Theory of Change for the Inclusion of Migrant Women in VET" (InclusionToC).

The InclusionToC project uses the Theory of Change to foster the inclusion of underprivileged groups, such as migrant women, in VET education.

Within the project, the consortium developed several results:

  • Synthesis Report from the research phase,
  • Training course – Inclusion of migrant women using Theory of Change,
  • Digital platform – Participatory design using TOC for inclusion of migrant women,
  • Training guide – on leadership, self-development and empowerment of migrant women.

The "Training Course for VET staff - Integration of migrant women using Theory of Change" is a 30-hour training course for VET staff interested in using Theory of Change in their organisation. The course consists of five modules:

  1. How to apply the Theory of Change in VET organisations using the participatory design.
  2. How to analyse the situation, gather feedback, involve people and form inclusion strategies for vulnerable people and migrant women.
  3. How to set short—and long-term goals for the organisation and how to apply them to maximise impact.
  4. The importance of applying inclusion measures and why change is needed.
  5. The benefits for VET organisations and migrant women are guiding VET education for the future.

The Training Guide and a course for migrant women on self-development, soft skills and leadership competencies, includes eight topics:

  • improving soft skills,
  • leadership skills and abilities,
  • development of self-awareness,
  • personal development,
  • knowledge of the host country's culture,
  • problem-solving skills,
  • improvement of communication,
  • flexibility and adaptability to new conditions.

The project results will be available for download from:
