Career Path: On the Path of Building More Welcoming Societies

Barriers and challenges in integrating into the labour market are something foreigners from countries outside the EU encounter on everyday bases.

Barriers and challenges in integrating into the labour market are something foreigners from countries outside the EU encounter on everyday bases, which is why Career Path partner organisations decided to conduct a Situational Mapping Analysis which maps the process of labour integration of foreigners, its barriers, challenges and recommendations that could improve the situation. In addition, the report of 13 examples of best practices that shows how job integration and professional development of foreigners can work was developed. Our newest document, Analysis of the stakeholders’ feedback to the Situational Mapping Analysis and Best Practices Report, represents an analysis of the stakeholders' feedback on both of these two analyses conducted by Career Path partner countries.

Career Path - On the Path of Building More Welcoming Societies.

Third-country nationals, stakeholders from public and non-governmental institutions, but also HR managers and employers gave us their perspective and detailed feedback on the previous reports. Their comments and suggestions will be used for the following steps of the Career Path project implementation.

Their feedback was in general positive. The stakeholders found the overview of the legal framework very useful, adding they learnt new information on the key issues  of third-country nationals integration in the labour market. Many institutions appreciated the report of 13 best practices which inspired them and they plan on implementing some of the practices in their own national context.

Despite living in different countries, the report proved that we often face similar issues regarding the efforts to build welcoming societies and improve migrants integration into the labour market. Recommendations provided by the stakeholders will be further elaborated in the following phases of the Career Path project in order to encourage decision-makers to implement policies that will help us build truly welcoming societies.

This project is co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union.

What is the Career Path project? The objective of the project Career Path is to enable migrant workers from non-EU countries in Europe to achieve their professional aspirations and fulfil their potential. In order to allow that to happen it is important to create an environment where they have access to qualified advice and guidance and to further professional development opportunities. The goal of this project is therefore to prepare policy recommendations and toolkits for and with relevant stakeholders (public institutions, employers, adult education organisations and NGOs) that enable them to create a more supportive environment for the professional growth and economic integration of migrants.
