Μια νορβηγική ποιοτική μελέτη, την οποία διεξήγαγαν οι Christin Tonseth και Ragnhild Bergsland, καταλήγει στο συμπέρασμα ότι η εκπαίδευση στις φυλακές επηρεάζει τη ζωή των πρώην κρατουμένων μετά την απελευθέρωσή τους από τη φυλακή.

 

Η επίσημη ανώτερη δευτεροβάθμια εκπαίδευση στην οποία συμμετείχαν πολλά άτομα όταν βρίσκονταν στη φυλακή, άλλαξε ριζικά την αυτοεκτίμησή τους, την ταυτότητα, τα κίνητρά τους και τις στάσεις τους

Thank you for your post. I agree wholeheartedly. Most people would assume that prisoners are reluctant/unwilling to even try, let alone complete their studies.
In our work in minimun-security prison in my hometown, however, we have seen that 100% of those people are quite interested in doing whataever it takes to get back into the society. 
Everyone desreves a second chance. These inmates are not violents, and their lives always changed after completing their school while serving their sentences. As Kafka said: "Most people are not evil-doers, they are sleepwalkers." If you learn something from a mistake, it is no longer a mistake, it is a lesson.
