Latch-On was initiated and developed at the school of education at the University of Queensland and has a strong foundation in educational research and practice.

Täiskasvanukoolitaja professionaalsus on seotud nii teadmiste ja oskuste kui ka hoiakute, arusaamade ja tõekspidamistega ning avaldub praktilises tegevuses. Täiskasvanute koolitaja kui suhteliselt uue professiooni toimimises võib välja tuua erinevusi traditsiooniliste elukutsetega võrreldes: erinevused ettevalmistuses, diskursuse, normide ja erialase põhiteadmise kujunemises.

Până la acest moment, sistemul național de educație și formare din domeniul educaţiei adulţilor nu este clar reglementat, divizat de mecanisme incoerente de certificare şi reglementare care nu iau în considerare diversitatea domeniului şi a statusurilor profesionale, a experienţei, a sarcinilor şi a rolurilor îndeplinite de către educatorii/formatorii de adulţi.

The ET2020 Working Group on adult learning is meating for an in-depth country workshop in Oslo this week to discuss the Group's policy challenge no 3: "Analyse the current situation regarding the digital skills of adults and use if ICT and OER in adult learning and investigate ways to improve these". W publikacji opisane zostały dwa zasadnicze etapy tworzenia UTW; pierwszy obejmujący formalno - prawne kroki niezbędne do jego powstania jako odrębnego bytu prawnego, oraz drugi odnoszący się z kolei do organizacyjno-merytorycznych aspektów tworzenia UTW.
Poradnik skierowany jest do liderów Uniwersytetów Trzeciego Wieku i stanowi pomocne narzędzie w procesie bieżącego zarządzania organizacją. Publikacja została opracowany w ramach projektu „Akademia Lidera UTW”, dofinansowanego z Rządowego Programu na rzecz Aktywności Społecznej Osób Starszych na lata 2012-2013 (ASOS), realizowanego przez Ogólnopolską Federację Stowarzyszeń Uniwersytetów Trzeciego Wieku.
