Taalvaardigheden zijn essentieel om deel te kunnen nemen aan de arbeidsmarkt en aan het dagelijks leven. Nederland beschikt over een beroepsbevolking met een hoog gemiddeld niveau van taalvaardigheid. Maar een aanzienlijke groep mensen in Nederland is laaggeletterd: 12% van de mensen tussen 16 en 65 jaar hebben moeite met het lezen, begrijpen en gebruiken van relatief eenvoudige teksten, in digitale vorm of op papier.

In recent years there has been a development in Norway towards increased ethnic diversity and visible multiculturalism. Immigrants now comprise about 12 percent of the total population and 24 percent of the population in the nation’s capital city. The number of immigrants has doubled from 2003 to 2013 (Andreassen et al., 2013). Immigrants are active members of Norwegian society, including Government, civil society and the working life.

Es wächst das Interesse nach kirchlichen Angeboten, denen es primär nicht um Hilfe oder Sorge geht, sondern die von der Gestaltungsfreude und-kraft älterer Menschen ausgehen. Gefragt sind Angebote, die Neugier wecken und Entwicklungsmöglichkeiten bieten.

The European Training Foundation (ETF) key indicators were used in the reviews and analyses of the 2012 round of the Torino Process, which assesses the Vocational Education Training (VET) systems of all ETF partner countries. The first round of the Torino Process took place in 2010 and the experience gathered here was used to improve the analytical framework for the 2012 reviews and to rework the list of indicators suggested for analysing the VET systems.
