To walk away from prison, towards freedom – this must be every inmates dream. But according to Gitte Lumholdt, Educational counsellor at State Prison Horseroed, this is not the case.

At skulle vende tremmerne ryggen og sige goddag til friheden - det må da være enhver indsats drøm. Eller hvordan? Ifølge Gitte Lumholdt, der er uddannelsesvejleder i Statsfængslet ved Horserød, er sandheden ofte en anden.

PIAAC (Programme for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies - Program medzinárodného hodnotenia kompetencií dospelých) je medzinárodný výskum o využívaní kompetencií dospelých v práci a zamestnaní, realizovaný OECD. Ide o program mapujúci kognitívne kompetencie, ktorý je zároveň nástrojom pre monitorovanie gramotnosti dospelých a prostriedkom na identifikovanie príčin a dôsledkov nadobúdania a straty kompetencií. Medzinárodný výskum tohto typu zisťuje predovšetkým to, ako sú občania jednotlivých krajín pripravení reagovať na nové výzvy vedomostnej spoločnosti.

A research study in nineteen selected European and non-European countries shows that the returns to adult learning are substantial and accrue to the economy, individuals and society. The analysis suggests that adult learning is even more important for innovation performance than higher education. This is explained with the fact that for example learning in the workplace through task complexity is the most important driver for innovation performance.

Das ist nur eines der zahlreichen Ergebnisse des Adult Education Survey 2012 (AES), dessen abschließender Ergebnisbericht in dieser Publikation vorliegt. Der Bericht analysiert und kommentiert die repräsentativen Daten unter Berücksichtigung zentraler Fragestellungen: Wer genau nimmt wie oft und wie lange an Weiterbildung teil? Und wer nimmt nicht teil?
