Overview – Mobility and Internationalisation in the Czech Republic

Co-operation within Europe and the European dimension have been gaining ground in Czech society and particularly in Czech schools since 1989, when fundamental socio-political changes took place. In 2004 the Czech Republic joined the European Union, it is further a member of UNESCO, the Council of Europe, OECD and  the Visegrad Group. In the education field it is a member of the European networks  ReferNet, NARIC Network, Eurydice, Euroguidance or EuropeanSchoolnet.

The Scottish Wider Access Programme (SWAP) provides independent advice and guidance for adults to reenter formal education and developed alternative routes to access universities and colleges. Because of SWAP more than 32,000 adults with few or no formal qualifications were able to return to study. Those access programmes are run in colleges throughout Scotland. They are available in humanities (arts and social science), science, engineering, nursing and primary or community education.
