I would like to begin this introduction with a description of my personal development as a teacher. I was 26 years old and working in the media industry. One day, the headmaster of a high school asked me to work as a temporary replacement for a teacher who was absent due to illness. I considered this opportunity as a chance to gain some new experience and I agreed. Interestingly, from such a casual beginning, teaching gradually became my chosen profession.

Early experiments with online learning environments started in Tallinn Pedagogical University already in 1997, by 1999 there were more than 10 courses  running in WebCT environment, including two courses designed and taught by me.

Töös selgitatakse, millistest ideoloogilistest veendumustest lähtuvalt kujundatakse hariduspoliitikat ühiskonnas. Töös otsitakse vastust küsimustele, kuidas globaliseerumine ning eelkõige ühinemine Euroopa Liiduga mõjutab Eesti hariduselu ning uskumusi hariduse eesmärkidest.

Labour market, education, and training institutions play a key role in shaping the way countries tackle youth unemployment. Youth unemployment and disengagement from both education and work are negatively associated with levels of completed education and skill proficiency. This report focuses on the supply aspect of the youth unemployment problem. It examines the role of education and training in preventing and combating youth unemployment by providing the existing evidence as found in recent economic research.

Legea Educaţiei Naţionale nr. 1/2011 menționează la art. 357 necesitatea de a crea un sistem care să asigure formarea iniţială şi dezvoltarea continuă a profesioniştilor din educaţia adulţilor. Până la acest moment, sistemul național de educație și formare din domeniul educaţiei adulţilor nu este clar reglementat, divizat de mecanisme incoerente de certificare şi reglementare care nu iau în considerare diversitatea domeniului şi a statusurilor profesionale, a experienţei, a sarcinilor şi a rolurilor îndeplinite de către educatorii/formatorii de adulţi.
